For private health establishments licensed in Oman, وزارة الصحة

Oman MOH clinic software, built to help you achieve a clean DGPHE inspection record.

wai runs booking, clinical notes, patient messaging in Arabic, English or any language, payments and records for Oman's clinics, centres, polyclinics and hospitals, and keeps each of them as evidence a DGPHE inspector can read. Replies are drafted in the patient's language for your team to approve and notes are written during the consultation for the doctor to sign, so wai is built to help you achieve a clean DGPHE inspection record.

Updated . Every Oman MOH fact is checked against moh.gov.om and the other official pages cited below.

What a DGPHE inspection finds with wai

With wai, every Arabic and English enquiry is answered the same day, every note is signed during the visit, and any file a DGPHE team collects holds the note, the consent and the results together. The self assessment every four months draws on the same records your team works from each day.

What has changed for Oman's private establishments?

What is in force in October 2026, and what is still a draft.

  1. Ministerial Decision 231/2024, published on 8 September 2024, issued the Executive Regulation of the 2019 law and repealed the 1998 regulation of private clinics and hospitals and the 2009 regulation of private hospitals.
  2. The regulation asks for the Ministry's approval of the electronic health information system before a licence, and a renewal application within 60 days of the licence's expiry date. The August 2024 manual still says at least 30 days before expiry.4
  3. DGPHE issued its Supervision and Control Policy in February 2025, its Medical Record Documentation Guideline in March 2025 and the second edition of its clinic licensing SOP in November 2025.
  4. Royal Decree 44/2025 amended the 2019 law. The fines and licence cancellation grounds for private establishments in Articles 52 and 54 are unchanged.
  5. The private sector patients' rights policy MOH publishes is still marked as a draft.

Questions

What is the best clinic software for Oman MOH compliance?

The best software for Oman MOH compliance is the system your establishment already runs on, so the evidence is a by-product of the work. Look for one networked record behind registration, notes, Arabic and English messaging, payments and access, a full audit trail, and records hosted under your country's rules. wai is built that way, to help you achieve a clean DGPHE inspection record.

Is there Oman MOH approved clinic software?

Oman's Ministry of Health licenses and supervises private health establishments and professionals. It does not approve, certify or endorse software, wai included, and software cannot earn an inspection result on a provider's behalf. wai keeps the records your team uses to show Oman MOH how care is delivered, and Oman MOH decides the inspection result.

Who licenses private clinics in Oman?

The Ministry of Health, through its Directorate General of Private Health Establishments. It licenses clinics, centres, polyclinics, hospitals and every professional who works in them.

How long is an Oman private health establishment licence valid?

Three years, under Article 11 of Ministerial Decision 231/2024. It is renewed for further three-year terms through the eHealth Portal.

Does the Ministry need to approve our electronic record system?

Yes. Article 8 of the Executive Regulation lists the Ministry's approval of the electronic health information system among the documents for a licence, and Article 29 requires a system that meets the Ministry's approved standards.

Is accreditation mandatory for private clinics in Oman?

The law lets the Ministry use one or more accreditation bodies to assess private establishments. DGPHE licenses and supervises them, and international accreditation such as JCI remains a choice each organisation makes.

Does wai work in Arabic?

Yes. wai drafts replies in the language the patient writes in, Arabic, English or any other, for your team to approve, and answers intake questions by voice in any language.

Where does wai keep our records?

In its own country, under that country's rules, encrypted, with a full audit log. We set this up with you before go-live.

See wai on your own diary, notes and inbox.

Fifteen minutes on video, on your own diary, notes and Arabic and English inbox. Built to help you achieve a clean DGPHE inspection record. wai hosts each clinic's records in its own country, under that country's rules. We set this up with you before go-live.
