How does DOH rate and enforce?

  2. 4 diamondsExceptional
  3. 3 diamondsExcellent
  4. 1 to 2 diamondsGood to Very Good

  3. 5

facilities were temporarily closed in March 2026, and their staff suspended, over records and licensing failures.4

  • Renew two months before the licence expires. Renewal can be for one or two years, and two years needs a passed quality inspection.
  • A late renewal is fined 25% of the licence fee a month, for up to six months.
  • A licence is cancelled by law six months after it expires.
  • DOH may suspend or withdraw a licence for failing to comply with the Malaffi rollout.

What changed at DOH in 2026?

Three circulars a facility should know about in October 2026.

  1. Circular 2026/30, February, requires clinicians to use Malaffi before requesting any laboratory or radiology examination.
  2. Circular 2026/144, July, requires every facility to send referral data to Malaffi, with full compliance by 31 August 2026. That deadline has passed, and DOH enforces it through Malaffi data.5
  3. Circular 2026/164 sets Tawteen targets with a cut-off of 31 December 2026, and in March DOH temporarily closed five facilities over manipulated records and unapproved record systems.

Questions

What is the best clinic software for DOH Abu Dhabi?

The best DOH software is the system your facility already runs on, so the evidence is a by-product of the work. Look for one record behind booking, notes, messaging, payments and access, a record built to connect to Malaffi, a full audit trail and records hosted in the UAE. wai is built that way, to help you achieve a clean DOH audit.

Is there DOH approved clinic software?

The Department of Health Abu Dhabi licenses, audits and rates healthcare facilities. It does not approve, certify or endorse software, wai included, and software cannot earn a licence on a provider's behalf. wai keeps the records your team uses to show DOH how care is delivered, and DOH decides the licence.

Is Malaffi mandatory?

Yes, DOH's policy makes sharing data with the exchange mandatory, a permanent licence needs Malaffi approval, and 2026 circulars require Malaffi checks before lab and radiology requests and referral data to Malaffi.

What is ADHICS?

The Abu Dhabi Healthcare Information and Cyber Security Standard, now in version 2. It applies to anyone who handles health information in Abu Dhabi, keeps that information in the UAE unless DOH approves otherwise, and asks for breaches to be reported within 72 hours.

What is Muashir?

The Abu Dhabi Healthcare Quality Index, launched in 2018 as an evolution of Jawda. It classifies distinguished facilities, mainly hospitals, from one to five diamonds.

Does a facility in Abu Dhabi need JCI accreditation?

No, DOH licenses facilities. JCI accreditation is voluntary, and many hospitals hold it for international patients.

Does wai work for hospitals and health systems?

Yes, every facility runs on the same record, inbox and reports. Larger organisations usually start with one pathway, prove it on their own data, and widen it from there.

Where does wai keep our records?

In the UAE, under the UAE's rules, encrypted, with a full audit log. We set this up with you before go-live.

See wai on your own diary, notes and inbox.

Fifteen minutes on video, on your own diary, notes and inbox. Built to help you achieve a clean DOH audit. wai hosts your clinic's records in the UAE, under the UAE's rules. We set this up with you before go-live.
