Apply two months before the licence expires, and renew for one year, or for two if you pass a quality inspection. A late renewal is fined 25% of the licence fee for each month, for up to six months, and the licence is cancelled by law six months after expiry.
The rules in the standard
The Standard for Healthcare Facility Licensure sets renewal two months before the facility's expiry date, for one or two years, with two years requiring a passed quality inspection. The late fine is 25% of the licence fee a month for up to six months, and the licence is cancelled by law six months after it expires.1 Some renewals also depend on Malaffi. For traditional, complementary and alternative medicine centres, Circular 2026/171 says a non-compliant centre's licence will not be renewed.2
