Your First Year in Practice

For new doctors, and anyone starting a clinic on their own. You will have a clinic that works, and a plan for your first year.

About this course

Three webinars and one essay for people starting out: what to use and what to avoid in the first year, a working clinic built from nothing in ten minutes, and what wai does differently for five specialties, so you can pick yours.

Each module is a recording with its worksheet, or an essay. At the end of every module there are two questions to check yourself against and one exercise to do on your own data. You can take the modules in any order. Your progress is saved on this device.

What you need before you start

  • A phone number you can use for the clinic
  • An hour, and the setup guide from module two

Certificate

When every module is marked done, ask for the certificate at the bottom of the last one. It arrives by email with the date and what the course covered. There is no score, because there is no test. You do the exercises on your own data.

Questions

I am not newly qualified. Is this still useful?

Module two and three are for anyone setting up or changing specialty. Module one is written for the first year but most of it holds later.

Is there a certificate?

Yes, by email, with the date, once every module is marked done. It says what the course covered, not what you scored, because there is no score.

When it opens

The next module opens 16 Dec 2026. The newsletter carries each one the day it does.
