Records, Rules and Evidence3 to check

Course, Advanced, 4 modules, about 2 hours

Records, Rules and Evidence

For the people who look after the records and sign the agreements. You will know who touched a record, which rules apply, and how to read a study.

About this course

Two webinars and two essays on the part of clinical AI that is not a demo: what the record shows about who read it and who wrote to it, the rules that apply in the US and the UK, and the first independent study of clinical AI across hundreds of private clinics.

Each module is a recording with its worksheet, or an essay. At the end of every module there are two questions to check yourself against and one exercise to do on your own data. You can take the modules in any order. Your progress is saved on this device.

What you need before you start

  • Admin access to your record system, or the person who has it
  • The name of whoever signs your data agreements

Modules

0 of 4 done

  1. 1Is an AI medical scribe HIPAA compliant?Essay, 8 min readA vendor can be HIPAA compliant while your use of it is not. What a business associate agreement covers, and what your risk analysis has to include.
  2. 2Who Touched This Patient's Record?Recording and worksheet, 45 min, opens 18 Nov 2026A live audit of one clinic record. Every person and system that read it or wrote to it, when and why, and what you can and cannot see in your own.
  3. 3How accurate are AI medical scribes?Essay, 7 min readNo vendor publishes a comparable word error rate, and it would not tell you what you need. Accuracy is whether the note evidences the decision you made.
  4. 4What Happens When AI Runs 500 ClinicsRecording and worksheet, 45 min, opens 10 Feb 2027The first independent study of clinical AI in private practice. What changed, what did not, and what went wrong, across hundreds of clinics, with the data shown.

What you will be able to do

  • Audit who read and who wrote to a record in your own system.
  • Know which rules apply before a microphone is on, in the US and the UK.
  • Judge a note by whether it evidences the decision, not by its word error rate.
  • Read a study of clinical AI with the right questions.

Who it is for

  • Clinical leads
  • Practice owners and partners
  • Whoever signs the data agreements

Certificate

When every module is marked done, ask for the certificate at the bottom of the last one. It arrives by email with the date and what the course covered. There is no score, because there is no test. You do the exercises on your own data.

Questions

We are in the UK. Is the course still for us?

Yes. The record audit is the same question everywhere, and the reading covers UK GDPR and GMC guidance as well as HIPAA.

Is the study module clinical advice?

No. It shows how to read a study and what to check. What you conclude about your own practice is yours.

When it opens

The next module opens 18 Nov 2026. The newsletter carries each one the day it does.
