wai and Microsoft Outlook

Clinician availability from an Outlook or Microsoft 365 calendar, read as busy times only.

wai reads each clinician's busy times from an Outlook or Microsoft 365 calendar, so online booking only offers the times they are open. A clinician connects their Microsoft account from their wai settings, and wai asks Microsoft for the start, end and show-as of each event and nothing more.

What it does

What it does not do

How it works in a clinic day

  1. Before clinic, the clinician's Outlook calendar already shapes online booking, because wai reads when they are busy and offers patients the times around it.
  2. Mid-morning, a colleague sends a meeting and the clinician accepts it in Outlook. wai listens for calendar changes, so the slot closes in online booking without waiting for the next check.
  3. wai has asked Microsoft for that meeting's start, end and show-as only. Its subject, body, location and attendees stay in Outlook.
  4. Bookings made in wai stay in wai, because wai does not write events into Outlook.
