A clinician connects their Google account from their wai settings. The clinic calendar is connected once by the clinic.

What it does

Reads when a clinician is busy, so online booking only offers times they are available.
Brings Google Meet events on the clinic calendar into wai as consultations, so the scribe can join and write the note.
Puts booked platform calls on the clinic calendar with the clinician as guest, and moves or removes the event when the booking is rescheduled or cancelled.

What it does not do

Read the title, description or guests of a clinician's own events. Availability uses Google's free/busy scope, which sees busy times and nothing else.
Add the patient as a guest on the clinic's calendar event.

How it works in a clinic day

A clinician adds a meeting to their own Google Calendar. wai sees that the time is busy, the slot drops out of online booking, and the meeting's title, description and guests are never read.
A patient books a platform call online. wai puts the call on the clinic calendar with the clinician as a guest.
When the consultation is a Google Meet event on the clinic calendar, it is already in wai as a consultation, so the scribe can join and write the note.
If the patient reschedules or cancels, wai moves or removes the event on the clinic calendar to match.

Questions

Can wai see what is in a clinician's calendar events?

wai reads busy times only. The title, description and guests of a clinician's own events are not read, because availability uses a Google scope that sees busy times and nothing else.

Is the patient added to the clinic's calendar event?

The clinician is added as a guest on the clinic calendar event for a booked platform call, and the patient is not.

What does it take to set up?

Each clinician connects their Google account from their wai settings, and the clinic connects the clinic calendar once. It is available to clinics in the UK and the US.
