Summary
A Bengaluru clinic can use AI to draft notes and patient replies today, with a registered doctor signing every note, consent recorded and records held in India. The rules that shape it are the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act 2007 as amended, registration with the Karnataka Medical Council, the DPDP Rules 2025 and ABDM's national registries.
Bengaluru clinics now answer parents and families in the language they wrote in, and doctors leave with every note signed. wai drafts each reply and note, a person at the clinic approves or signs it, and the records stay in India.

The private care market in Bengaluru
The 2011 Census counted 8,495,492 people in the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike area with its outgrowths.1
Bengaluru also draws patients from abroad. The government's 2026 brief on medical and wellness tourism places medical value travel providers mainly in India's southern and western states, counts 3 JCI accredited hospitals in Bangalore as of 2022 and over 1,299 NABH accredited hospitals nationally as of 2026.6
The rules a clinic in Bengaluru works under
The Karnataka Medical Council regulates the state's doctors and has required 6 CME credit points to renew a registration since 15 April 2022.3 The doctor who signs a drafted note is the registered doctor.
Every clinic needs its own registration. Section 3 of the Karnataka Private Medical Establishments Act 2007 says no private medical establishment may be established, run or maintained without registration, and section 4 sets a Registration Authority in each district.2 Section 12 requires clinical records in the prescribed manner, open to inspection by the District Surgeon or an empowered officer.2
The 2018 amendments added a Patient's Charter. It gives patients the right to information in a language of their preference, a documented procedure for informed consent and the right to receive their clinical records.2 Section 10 requires each establishment to publish its schedule of charges, including on its own website, and to bill no more than the notified rate, with an itemised bill.2
The Digital Personal Data Protection Rules 2025 add the data layer. Rule 4 on Consent Managers takes effect one year after publication, and most duties of clinics as data fiduciaries eighteen months after it.4 Under Rule 12 and Part A of the Fourth Schedule, a clinical establishment or healthcare professional may process a child's personal data without verifiable parental consent, limited to providing health services to the extent needed to protect the child's health.4 Rule 15 lets data leave India subject to the requirements the Central Government specifies.4
ABDM, launched in September 2021, runs national registries of healthcare professionals and of health facilities, public and private.5 wai is built to connect to ABDM. We set up your clinic's connection with you. wai hosts each clinic's records in its own country, under that country's rules. We set this up with your clinic. wai is compliant with these rules and built for clinics in Bengaluru.
The languages Bengaluru patients write in
In the 2011 Census BBMP area, Kannada was the mother tongue of 3,574,226 people, Tamil of 1,388,305, Telugu of 1,166,338 and Urdu of 1,104,124, followed by Hindi at 5.6%, Malayalam at 3.2% and Marathi at 2.1%.1
The Patient's Charter makes the patient's preferred language a right.2 wai works in any language, and every draft goes to the team for approval before it sends.7
What a demo shows in Bengaluru
A parent in Whitefield sends a WhatsApp message at 10:30pm asking whether her daughter's fever needs a visit tomorrow. wai flags it for a clinician, reads the paediatricians' busy times from Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar and drafts a reply offering the first open morning slot, and the front desk approves it at eight. A missed call to the Koramangala rooms during clinic hours becomes a drafted text in the same thread.
The parent answers the intake questions by voice, and the doctor reads them in English before the visit. In the consult wai drafts the note and the referral letter, the doctor signs both, and the invoice and any insurer claim are prepared from the signed note. Every message, draft, approval and signature is logged for the day a District Surgeon asks to see the record.
For health systems, governments and insurers in Bengaluru
Hospital groups, state programmes and insurers need ABDM registries, DPDP-ready consent and Indian hosting across many sites.54 wai builds one defined pathway at a time with the organisation's own teams, on one record across services, with data, configuration and model rights agreed in the contract. See wai for health systems and governments.
Where to start
First, check the clinic's KPME registration and that every signing doctor's Karnataka Medical Council registration is renewed. Second, write the consent procedure the Patient's Charter asks for, in Kannada and English, using the consent form template.
Third, mark which flows involve children's data and record the Fourth Schedule basis for each. Fourth, count last month's enquiries by language, channel and hour. Book a Bengaluru demo and bring that count.
Bring a week of Bengaluru enquiries, in every language they arrived in, and see the drafts your team would approve.
