NHRA compliance hub

NHRA guides

Each guide answers one question a provider in Kingdom of Bahrain asks about NHRA, from the official sources it cites. There are 7 guides across 7 topics, last checked on 16 October 2026.

The depth of an accreditation readiness review, written from NHRA's own policies, circulars and Bahrain's law. NHRA ties accreditation to the licence, and these are the answers that keep both in good standing. Each guide ends with how wai does the work.

How the guides map to the NHRA framework

The hub sets out the 5 headings NHRA works to, and the guides take them one task at a time.

The 5 headings on the NHRA hub

  1. Facility licensing, 5 requirements on the hub. No one may establish, manage or operate a private health facility in Bahrain without NHRA's prior licence, under Legislative Decree No. 21 of 2015. New applications go through Sijilat, and changes to services or capacity through Munshaat.
  2. Licensing inspection, 4 elements on the hub. NHRA's inspectors check each facility against its licence requirements in an announced inspection before renewal, using a checklist for each service, and may inspect unannounced after a complaint or reported violation.
  3. National accreditation, 5 standards on the hub. NHRA's Accreditation & Quality Group surveys hospitals and centres against its own standards on a four-year cycle. Accreditation is a condition for a private facility's licence to remain in operation.
  4. Incidents and sentinel events, 5 requirements on the hub. Every facility, government or private, must run an incident management and reporting system and report sentinel events to NHRA, under its Incident Reporting Policy.
  5. Consent, records and complaints, 4 instruments on the hub. NHRA's National Informed Consent Policy sets how consent is taken and recorded, its records policy sets how long records are kept, and its complaints section hears patients' complaints about professionals and facilities.

Questions about the NHRA guides

Which NHRA guide should I read first?

Start with The NHRA facility licence, the first guide on this page, about 8 minutes of reading, filed under Licence. The other 6 each stand on their own, so take them in the order your own preparation needs.

How do these guides relate to the NHRA hub?

The NHRA hub sets out the 5 headings NHRA works to and how wai evidences each one. Each guide goes one level down, to a single task, with steps to follow, a template to copy, answers to common questions and the sources behind it.

How current are the NHRA guides?

Every guide shows the date its facts were checked against the official sources it cites. All 7 were checked on 16 October 2026, the same date the hub shows beside its Updated line.

Are the NHRA guides legal advice?

They are guidance, not legal advice, written from what NHRA publishes, with a link to the source for each fact. NHRA does not endorse wai or any software, and the accreditation award for your organisation is decided by NHRA.

How do I request a demo for NHRA?

Request a demo from this page and it reaches the wai team with NHRA already named, so the call starts from NHRA rather than a general tour. You can also write to team@wellnessa-i.com.
