GAHAR guides

Each guide answers one question a provider in Egypt asks about GAHAR, from the official sources it cites. There are 7 guides across 7 topics, last checked on 16 October 2026.

The depth of an accreditation readiness review, written from GAHAR's own 2025 handbooks and the Universal Health Insurance law. Every primary care facility seeking accreditation is surveyed on the same 21 safety requirements. Each guide ends with how wai does the work.

How the guides map to the GAHAR framework

The hub sets out the 6 headings GAHAR works to, and the guides take them one task at a time.

The 6 headings on the GAHAR hub

  1. Accreditation prerequisites and conditions, 6 standards on the hub. Before a survey, the facility must be licensed as the law requires, operating for at least six months, and honest and complete in everything it tells GAHAR. These standards must be met for the survey to continue.
  2. GAHAR Safety Requirements, 6 requirements on the hub. Twenty-one GAHAR Safety Requirements, scored inside their chapters. A single unmet GSR standard means the facility cannot be accredited.
  3. Patient-centeredness culture, 6 standards on the hub. GAHAR expects patients' rights to be protected and explained, informed consent recorded for listed processes, privacy kept, feedback measured and complaints answered within set timeframes.
  4. Information Management and Technology, 8 standards on the hub. Twelve IMT standards cover the information plan, document control, confidentiality, retention, the medical record and how it is reviewed, health IT testing, downtime and backup.
  5. Quality, incidents and the workforce, 6 standards on the hub. GAHAR wants an incident reporting system staff use, sentinel events reported to it within 48 hours with a root cause analysis inside 45 days, and governance, staff files and clinical privileges kept current.
  6. Universal Health Insurance, Law No. 2 of 2018, 6 rules on the hub. The law makes health insurance mandatory for every citizen resident in Egypt, rolls out by governorate in six phases, and gives GAHAR the power to accredit the facilities that serve it.

Questions about the GAHAR guides

Which GAHAR guide should I read first?

Start with The GAHAR accreditation process, the first guide on this page, about 8 minutes of reading, filed under Accreditation. The other 6 each stand on their own, so take them in the order your own preparation needs.

How do these guides relate to the GAHAR hub?

The GAHAR hub sets out the 6 headings GAHAR works to and how wai evidences each one. Each guide goes one level down, to a single task, with steps to follow, a template to copy, answers to common questions and the sources behind it.

How current are the GAHAR guides?

Every guide shows the date its facts were checked against the official sources it cites. All 7 were checked on 16 October 2026, the same date the hub shows beside its Updated line.

Are the GAHAR guides legal advice?

They are guidance, not legal advice, written from what GAHAR publishes, with a link to the source for each fact. GAHAR does not endorse wai or any software, and the accreditation for your organisation is decided by GAHAR.

How do I request a demo for GAHAR?

Request a demo from this page and it reaches the wai team with GAHAR already named, so the call starts from GAHAR rather than a general tour. You can also write to team@wellnessa-i.com.
