Summary
WriteUpp publishes a full ladder in pounds, which almost nobody else in this comparison does. Flex from £19.95 a month, Solo from £27.95, Solo with the AI Medical Scribe from £49.95 and Group from £45.95 for 2 or more clinicians, with additional users at £15 for 3 to 10 and £12 for 11 to 25. Read on writeupp.com on 8 September 2026.
It publishes the add-ons at the same time. The AI Medical Scribe is £23.95 per user a month and online booking is £4.95 per clinic a month. Solo includes 1 clinician user, 1 non-clinical user, online booking and 100 SMS credits a month. There is a 30 day free trial and prices exclude tax.
For a solo physiotherapist, osteopath or psychotherapist that is a well judged product at a fair price, and this page will not try to talk you out of it. wai is a larger and more expensive purchase aimed at a different problem.
If £27.95 solves your problem, buy that. If the hours are the problem, book fifteen minutes.

What WriteUpp is good at
Price transparency in the buyer's own currency. Four tiers, the per user step downs, the scribe add-on and the booking add-on, all in pounds and all on one page. Among UK vendors only Jump publishes as completely, and neither Semble nor Pabau published a figure at all on the same date.
The solo practitioner shape. Solo at £27.95 a month includes a clinician user, a non-clinical user, online booking and 100 SMS credits, which is close to everything a single handed therapy practice needs. A 30 day trial is long enough to actually test it against real patients.
Honest unbundling. The scribe is £23.95 and it says so, rather than appearing as a surprise line at renewal.
Where the two models part
WriteUpp is priced so a solo clinician can afford it out of a few appointments a month. That constrains what it can do. At £27.95 nobody is answering your phone, and the scribe at £23.95 drafts a note rather than running the practice around it.
wai is priced on the work. The enquiry answered, the appointment booked, the note composed from the encounter, the letter drafted for approval, the coding done alongside. That costs more because it replaces hours rather than filing them, and the number is published on one page.
The useful question is what your evening actually contains. If it is 40 minutes of notes, a £23.95 scribe is the efficient answer. If it is 40 minutes of notes plus the voicemails, the rebookings and the letters, the scribe reaches one part of it.
Which one
Choose WriteUpp if you are a solo or small therapy practice and the monthly cost has to be small and predictable. At £19.95 to £49.95 it is the right purchase and buying more than that would be waste.
Choose wai when the practice has grown past the point where one person can hold the diary, the inbox and the notes. For the same question against a larger UK incumbent, read Semble vs wai.
What we are not claiming
We are not a better buy for a single handed therapist. We are several times the price and most of what we cover would go unused, because a solo practitioner answering their own phone between appointments does not need a front desk that runs around the clock.
We are also not claiming WriteUpp hides anything. Its published ladder is more complete than most of this market and it deserves credit for that.
Frequently asked questions
How much does WriteUpp cost?
WriteUpp publishes Flex from £19.95 a month, Solo from £27.95, Solo with AI Medical Scribe from £49.95 and Group from £45.95 for 2 or more clinicians, with additional users at £15 each for 3 to 10 and £12 for 11 to 25. Read on writeupp.com on 8 September 2026. Prices exclude tax and there is a 30 day free trial.
How much is the WriteUpp AI scribe?
The AI Medical Scribe is £23.95 per user a month as an add-on to Flex, Solo or Group, or bundled in the Solo plus AI Scribe plan from £49.95 a month. Read on writeupp.com on 8 September 2026. It drafts the note, which is one part of a clinic's admin rather than all of it.
Is WriteUpp cheaper than wai?
Yes, considerably. WriteUpp starts at £19.95 a month and wai is priced well above that, published on our pricing page. They are aimed at different practices. WriteUpp is built so a solo clinician can afford it out of a few appointments. wai replaces hours across a multi clinician clinic, which is a different purchase.
Is WriteUpp good for therapists?
It is one of the better fits for solo and small therapy practices in the UK. Physiotherapy, osteopathy, psychotherapy and similar single handed practices get online booking, SMS credits and a non-clinical user inside the Solo plan at £27.95 a month, which covers most of what that shape of practice needs.
When should a practice move on from WriteUpp?
When the constraint stops being the software bill and starts being the hours. Typically that is when nobody is free to answer enquiries during clinic, letters begin waiting a week and notes get written at home. A cheaper system does not change any of those, and neither does a scribe on its own.
