Cliniko pricing in the UK

Published September 12, 2026Updated September 12, 2026

Summary

Cliniko publishes its whole price list, which most of this category does not. Six bands by practitioner count. $45 a month for 1 practitioner, $95 for 2 to 5, $145 for 6 to 8, $195 for 9 to 12, $295 for 13 to 25 and $395 for 26 to 200, read on cliniko.com on 12 September 2026.

Two things about that list matter more than the headline number. The bands are flat rather than per seat, so five practitioners pay $95 in total and not $95 each, and the cost per clinician falls as the clinic grows. For an allied health group that curve is very hard to beat.

The second is the currency. On the same date the pricing page stated its figures in United States dollars, with no pound figures anywhere. A UK clinic buying Cliniko is billed in dollars, so the sterling amount depends on the rate on the day the card is charged.

Cliniko prices the diary. We price the work that fills it, in pounds.

The six published bands

Cliniko prices by how many practitioners a clinic runs, not by seats. The bands read $45 for 1, $95 for 2 to 5, $145 for 6 to 8, $195 for 9 to 12, $295 for 13 to 25 and $395 for 26 to 200, all read on cliniko.com on 12 September 2026.

The arithmetic rewards growth. A five practitioner clinic pays $19 a practitioner a month, and a twenty five practitioner clinic on the $295 band pays under $12. Very little in private practice software is cheaper per clinician at that size, and for a physiotherapy, chiropractic or podiatry group it is usually the deciding figure.

It is also the most complete price list in this category. Six bands, public, no form to fill in. Compare that with the scribe vendors in our price index, where most publish nothing at all.

The absent pound price

There is no UK price list. On 12 September 2026 the pricing page stated its figures in United States dollars and showed no pound equivalents, so a British clinic is quoted, billed and charged in dollars.

The practical effect is small in absolute terms and annoying in operation. The sterling cost of the same band moves month to month with the exchange rate, the figure on the bank statement rarely matches the figure budgeted, and most UK cards add a non sterling transaction fee on top. None of that is hidden, and none of it is a reason on its own to buy something else.

It does mean the honest answer to a search for Cliniko pricing in pounds is that the number does not exist. wai publishes in pounds sterling on its pricing page, which removes the question rather than answering it.

What the band buys well

The diary, the notes, the online booking and the invoices, without a tier maze. Cliniko has been doing that set for long enough that the software is quiet, which is the property a busy clinic actually wants from a practice management system.

Allied health scheduling is a genuine strength. Multi practitioner rosters, room booking and treatment note templates are built for that shape of practice rather than bolted on, and the flat band pricing suits a group rather than punishing it for hiring.

A clinic whose problem is the monthly software bill should buy Cliniko. It is the cheapest serious option in this comparison set and we will not pretend otherwise.

What no band covers

The phone and the inbox sit outside every one of the six bands. Cliniko holds the diary and the record beautifully, and a person still answers the enquiry, takes the booking, chases the result and writes the letter.

That is the cost that does not appear on a pricing page. A clinic comparing $45 against any other figure is comparing software licences, while the expensive line is the hours that surround the software. wai is priced on that work rather than on the container, which is why it costs more and why the comparison is not licence against licence.

The same trade against a UK vendor that publishes a full pound ladder is in WriteUpp vs wai. Clinicians still decide what enters the record and what reaches a patient.

What we are not claiming

wai is not cheaper than Cliniko and will not become cheaper. On licence cost alone Cliniko wins this comparison at every clinic size, and a practice whose binding constraint is the monthly software bill should buy it and stop reading here.

We are also not claiming Cliniko's depth in allied health rostering, nor that a dollar price is a defect. It is a currency choice that suits a global customer base, and it costs a UK buyer a little clarity rather than a lot of money.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Cliniko cost in the UK?

The same as everywhere else, in dollars. Six bands read on cliniko.com on 12 September 2026. $45 a month for 1 practitioner, $95 for 2 to 5, $145 for 6 to 8, $195 for 9 to 12, $295 for 13 to 25 and $395 for 26 to 200. There is no separate UK price list, so a British clinic pays the dollar figure converted at the rate on the billing date.

Does Cliniko publish prices in pounds?

No. On 12 September 2026 the pricing page stated its figures in United States dollars with no pound equivalents shown. If you are searching for a Cliniko price in pounds, the number does not exist, and any figure you find elsewhere is somebody's conversion rather than a published price.

Is Cliniko priced per practitioner or per clinic?

Per band, which behaves like per clinic. Five practitioners pay $95 in total rather than $95 each, and the cost per clinician falls as the clinic grows, from $45 for a single practitioner to under $12 each on the $295 band at 13 to 25. That curve is the main reason larger allied health groups choose it.

Is Cliniko cheaper than wai?

Yes, substantially, at every clinic size. wai is priced above it and publishes the figure in pounds on our pricing page. The two are buying different things. Cliniko is a very well made container for the diary, the note and the invoice. wai is priced on the enquiry, the booking, the note and the letter, which are hours rather than storage.

What is not included in the Cliniko price?

The people. Answering the phone, replying to the enquiry, taking the booking, chasing the result and writing the letter all sit outside every band, as they do with most practice management software. That is the line worth costing before comparing any two licence fees.

Cliniko or a UK vendor for a London private clinic?

If you have reception cover and want the lowest predictable software cost, Cliniko, and the dollar billing is a minor irritation rather than a problem. If enquiries go unanswered after hours, letters wait a week and notes get written at home, a cheaper diary does not reach any of that.
