What SimplePractice is good at
Insurance billing for a solo United States practice. Claims, eligibility and the clearinghouse path are the reason most of its customers stay, and for a therapist whose revenue arrives through payers that is the whole product. We do not do this and we say so first.
Behavioural health as the design centre. Intake, telehealth, the client portal and the documentation templates are shaped for therapy rather than adapted to it, which is why it has the share of that market that it does.

The number to actually compare

wai answers the enquiry, books the appointment, composes the note from the encounter and drafts the letter for approval, with messages and calls landing on one patient record. It is priced above the software market because it stands in for hours rather than shortening them.
For a United States practice the honest boundary is billing. We cover the clinical work and the front desk. We do not cover payer claims, and in a practice where most revenue is insurance settled that boundary decides it.
