Halaxy pricing

By the Wai teamSeptember 23, 20266 min read

Summary

Halaxy's core platform is free, with no card required, and it earns from three things instead. Credits at €0.10 to €0.15 each for SMS, telehealth and the AI scribe, card processing at 1.99 to 2 percent plus €0.50 a transaction, and subscription features from 25 credits a month. Read on the UK page at eu.halaxy.com on 23 September 2026, where every figure is quoted in euros rather than pounds.

Halaxy is the only practice management system in this comparison whose core product costs nothing. The diary, the patient record, invoicing and reporting are free, with no sign up fee and no card, and that is not a trial tier.

The revenue arrives elsewhere. Credits are consumed by the optional features, card payments carry a percentage, and some integrations sit behind a monthly credit commitment. A clinic that takes no card payments through Halaxy and sends no SMS can genuinely run it for nothing.

The complication for a British practice is that none of the figures are in pounds. The UK page at eu.halaxy.com quotes euros, and the Australian page quotes Australian dollars. Both were read on 23 September 2026.

Our price is one published figure in pounds, with nothing metered behind it.

Free is really free

The core platform carries no licence fee, no per clinician charge and no sign up cost. Appointments, patient management, invoicing and reporting are included, which is more than several paid products in this market cover at their entry tier.

For a solo practitioner starting out, or an allied health clinic with modest messaging needs and its own card terminal, this is a serious proposition and the honest answer is that it may cost nothing at all.

It is also why Halaxy appears in almost every UK shortlist. A product that costs nothing to try properly, with real patients, removes the main reason practices delay a decision for months.

What the credits actually buy

Credits are consumed by the optional features rather than bought as a plan. SMS, telehealth, electronic scripts, rebates and the AI scribe all draw on the same balance, at €0.10 to €0.15 a credit on the UK page, with the rate falling when topped up in bulk.

The difficulty for budgeting is that Halaxy does not publish how many credits each feature consumes on the pricing page itself. A clinic cannot turn a per credit price into a monthly figure without knowing the consumption, which is the one number a buyer most wants.

Ask for the credit cost of an SMS, a telehealth consultation and a scribed note before committing. Those three cover most of what a clinic will actually use, and the answer turns a per credit price into a budget.

The card fee is where the money is

1.99 to 2 percent plus €0.50 a transaction on the UK page, against 1.5 to 1.9 percent plus 75c to $1 on the Australian one. Both were read on 23 September 2026.

This is the figure that decides what Halaxy really costs. A practice taking £30,000 a month across 300 card payments at 2 percent plus €0.50 is paying roughly £600 in percentage plus the fixed fees, which is more than most per clinician licences in this comparison.

That is not a criticism, it is the business model working as designed, and a clinic that processes elsewhere avoids it entirely. It does mean the comparison against a paid product has to be run on the whole cost rather than on the licence line, which is the same discipline this whole price index argues for.

No sterling anywhere

The page a UK clinic is directed to, at eu.halaxy.com, prices in euros. The main site prices in Australian dollars. Neither shows pounds, on 23 September 2026.

For a British practice that means the software cost moves with two exchange rates rather than none, and that the card processing fee, the one charge that scales with revenue, is quoted in a currency the practice does not bank in.

Halaxy is not alone in this. Cliniko and Medesk publish only in United States dollars while selling to UK clinics, set out in Medesk pricing. Of the products a UK private practice shortlists, only Jump EHR, Carebit and WriteUpp publish full rate cards in sterling.

What Halaxy is good at

The free core is a real gift to a practice that is starting, and to one that wants to run a proper trial with real patients before committing anything. Nothing else in this market lets a clinic do that.

It is strong for allied health and for solo practitioners, the patient facing booking experience is good, and the absence of a per clinician fee means a growing practice is not punished for adding a part time colleague.

Our full comparison is in Halaxy vs Wai.

Where Wai is different

Halaxy stores the diary, the record and the invoice, and charges nothing for it. A person still answers the enquiry, takes the booking, chases the result and drafts the letter.

Wai is priced on that work instead, at one published figure in pounds with nothing metered behind it. The enquiry is answered, the booking is taken, the note is composed from the consultation and the letter is drafted for approval, on one record.

A practice whose binding constraint is the monthly software bill should use Halaxy and stop reading here. Free is a price we are not going to beat. Clinicians still decide what enters the record.

Frequently asked questions

Is Halaxy really free?

The core platform is, with no sign up fee and no card required. Appointments, patient management, invoicing and reporting are included. The revenue comes from credits for optional features, card processing on payments you take through it, and subscription features from 25 credits a month.

How much does Halaxy cost in the UK?

Credits are €0.10 to €0.15 each and card processing is 1.99 to 2 percent plus €0.50 a transaction, read on the UK page at eu.halaxy.com on 23 September 2026. The licence itself is free. What a clinic actually pays depends almost entirely on how much it processes through Halaxy.

Does Halaxy publish prices in pounds?

No. The UK page quotes euros and the Australian page quotes Australian dollars, both read on 23 September 2026. Of the systems a UK private practice shortlists, only Jump EHR, Carebit and WriteUpp publish full rate cards in sterling.

What are Halaxy credits used for?

SMS, telehealth, electronic scripts, rebates and the AI scribe all draw on the same balance. The pricing page publishes the per credit price but not how many credits each feature consumes, so ask for the credit cost of an SMS, a telehealth consultation and a scribed note before budgeting.

Is Halaxy cheaper than a paid practice management system?

It depends on card volume. A practice taking £30,000 a month across 300 payments at 2 percent plus a fixed fee pays roughly £600, which is more than most per clinician licences in this comparison. A practice that processes cards elsewhere avoids that entirely and may genuinely pay nothing.

Who is Halaxy best for?

Solo practitioners and allied health clinics with modest messaging needs, especially anyone starting out. There is no per clinician fee, so a growing practice is not penalised for adding a part time colleague, and a real trial with real patients costs nothing.

How does Halaxy compare with Wai?

They are priced on different things. Halaxy charges nothing to store the diary, the record and the invoice, and earns on what you process through it. Wai is priced on the enquiries, the letters and the hours around the appointment, at one published figure in pounds. A practice optimising the software bill should use Halaxy.
